Eric Aubertin
Eric Aubertin is the Chairman , CEO, and Founder of OneBigPlanet Corp. Eric is a self-made individual who brings with him an insatiable appetite for starting new businesses.
He has over 15 years of entrepreneurial experience operating technology firms in the consumer savings space, including ecommerce, loyalty programs and fundraising markets, where he led these companies in their corporate developments. From conceptualizing technology solutions, formulating business and revenue models, overseeing product development, implementing innovative sales and marketing strategies, to securing capital investment, Mr. Aubertin has to date primarily focused his career on building the corporate infrastructure of promising start-ups.
In 2002, Eric Aubertin founded OneBigPlanet Corp. which grew from initial personal and seed investment to today being recognized as one of the most customizable and comprehensive consumer savings platform offered to advertising and publishing partners. Previously, as CEO and Founder of eFundraising.com Corp, Eric Aubertin invented a patented e-mail and web-based fundraising system that was acquired by Reader’s Digest in 2000 for the sum of $27 million.
Mr. Aubertin has a reputation for being one of the most innovative minds in the loyalty, ecommerce and fundraising industry. In addition to his professional exploits, Eric was drafted by the Montreal Canadians of the NHL in 1986 and played on the Canadian Olympic Ice Hockey Team in 1991. During his junior hockey years, Eric shared room with famous NHL goaltender Patrick Roy with whom a running bet as to who would be the richest man still stands. Mr. Aubertin earned a Bachelor of Commerce and Business Administration Degree from the McGill University at Montreal, Canada, with specializations in Marketing, Entrepreneurship and International Marketing.
Louis Gagnon
Louis Gagnon is an advisor of OneBigPlane Corp. Louis is currently the Chief Product and Marketing Officer at Yodle where he heads a team that is responsible for leveraging data, technology and marketing expertise to bring to market a suite of products and services that enables millions of local businesses to effectively market themselves without having to spend a significant amount of time, energy and money.
Prior to joining Yodle, Louis was Senior Vice-President, Global Products at Monster Worldwide where he and his team spearheaded a major transformation of the company’s value-proposition through the delivery of an unprecedented amount of product innovations. Prior to his US assignment, Louis was Vice-President of Product and Marketing at Monster in Canada where he was named “Marketer that Matters” by the Marketing Magazine and “Personality of the Year” by the Montreal chapter of the American Marketing Association. Prior to Monster, Louis had built a long and successful career as an Internet and Social entrepreneur around the world. Louis received a BBA from Laval University and an MSc in Marketing from HEC-Montreal. His work has been featured in many business magazines, including The Economist.
Thomas Birch
Tom Birch is an advisor and Board Member of OneBigPlanet Corp. Tom Birch has many entrepreneurial experiences operating enterprise software companies and managing product lines within large corporations in the contact center, CTI, CRM and eCommerce markets.
Prior to joining Telesystem Ventures in 2006, Birch was CEO of angel-financed GoodContacts, P2P contact verification software, which he sold to Reunion.com in 2004. From 1998 to 2001, Birch was CEO of venture-financed Pyderion Contact Technologies until sold to Intecom. Birch's background also includes founding a CTI product marketing consulting company, being regional director of sales of a start-up PC lifecycle management business, and being the call center product manager at Nortel. Birch currently sits on the following boards of the following software companies: eBillme.com (internet payments), GridIron Software (workflow saas software for graphic artists), OneBigPlanet.com (local deals distribution network), Woozworld (social gaming),. Birch has recently been on the boards of the following businesses: dna13 (Social Media Management saas), ShopIt.com (P2P shopping for social networks), BabyTel (Social VoIP carrier), N-Dimension (open source security appliance) and Ivara (Reliability Centered Management software). Tom Birch holds a B.A. of Mathematics from Queen's University, a B.Sc. Honours in Computer Science from Queen's University, and a MBA from the Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario.
Robert Talbot
Robert Talbot is a senior mentor and advisor of OneBigPlanet Corp.. Since 1977, Robert Talbot has played a leadership role as portfolio manager and venture capitalist in dozens of early-stage investments in the information and communication technology sector. Prior to joining Telesystem in 1995, Robert Talbot held senior positions at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Canada’s largest pension fund manager, where he was one of the founding members of the private equity investment group. At Telesystem, he was active in brokering the financing for Taleo, from seed stage to IPO (NASDAQ: TLEO).
In addition to sitting on the boards of some of Telesystem’s portfolio companies, he has also filled board roles at Hydro-Québec Capitech, Groupe Vidéotron, Teleglobe Canada and Héroux-Devtek. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from École des Hautes Études Commerciales in Montreal.
Martin Faucher
Martin Faucher is an advisor and a board member of OneBigPlanet Corp. Martin Faucher, CA, is Cossette’s Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his appointment at Cossette, Mr. Faucher was the former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of iPerceptions, a public company and leading web-focused Voice of Customer analytics providers and CFO of Microbridge Technologies Canada Inc., a private electronic calibration corporation. Mr. Faucher was CFO and Co-owner of Kaydara Inc., from June 1996 to January 2004, a leading 3-D animation software company that was sold to Alias Systems Inc. in 2004.
He has started his career with Ernst & Young, LLP, as an external auditor in September 1992. In 1994, he was promoted to Project Manager in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Ernst & Young, LLP, providing acquisition, divestiture, valuation, financing and reorganization services to leading international companies. Mr Faucher holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and Management Science, obtained in 1991, when he graduated with the University Scholar and Faculty of Management Award designations from McGill University, as well as a diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University obtained in 1993. Mr. Faucher has been a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec since 1995.
